Plantar Wart Cauterisation featured image

Plantar Wart Cauterisation

Plantar warts, although in some cases painless, often cause discomfort and irritation while walking. At Podcare, treatment is carried out in a safe and, in most cases, painless way, using methods that do not damage the healthy surrounding skin.

Silver nitrate
Treatment Steps:

Cleaning of the lesion
The thickened/hyperkeratotic skin covering the wart is carefully removed in order to expose its core.

Application of silver nitrate
A targeted application is performed with a special applicator stick, allowing the active substance to act on the cells affected by the virus.

Mild and controlled procedure
No anaesthesia is required. In most cases, the treatment is painless and well tolerated by both children and adults.

Reassessment and continuation of treatment
The lesion is re-evaluated approximately every 15 days and, depending on the response, repeated sessions may be needed until complete resolution.

Care instructions and topical treatment
Clear instructions are provided regarding hygiene and protection of the area, and the treatment is combined with topical therapy for better and faster results.

Benefits of the Method:

Safe local treatment
The application is performed exclusively on the wart, without damaging the healthy surrounding skin.

Usually painless procedure
In most cases, it does not cause significant pain and no anaesthesia is required.

Does not leave marks or scars
It does not cause scarring or permanent skin changes.

Suitable for all ages
Children, adolescents, and adults can safely undergo this treatment.

Also suitable for people with diabetes
When performed by a specialised podiatrist and following proper assessment (circulation, neuropathy, tissue healing), it can be carried out safely.

Quick and practical procedure
The treatment lasts only a few minutes and requires no recovery time.

Curettage

In more resistant or deeper warts that do not respond to silver nitrate treatment, the curettage method is used. This is a targeted removal of the lesion under local anaesthesia, with careful removal of its core. This technique is only used when considered necessary and always after assessment by a podiatrist.

Warts may be contagious, but their treatment is simple and effective. Book your appointment at Podcare.
