A foreign body in the foot can be anything that penetrates the skin or the nail, such as thorns, glass splinters, small stones, metal fragments, or even hairs growing inward. If it is not removed properly, it may cause inflammation, infection, or even chronic irritation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible Foreign Bodies and Causes of Penetration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Sharp objects:<\/strong> Glass, metal, wood, thorns, needles.
\u2013 Small particles:<\/strong> Sand, stones, or other debris from walking on the beach or uneven ground.
\u2013 Nails growing into the skin (ingrown toenails):<\/strong> These may lead to inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Symptoms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Discomfort or pain, especially while walking.
\u2013 Redness and swelling at the site of penetration.
\u2013 Infection, with pus and increased warmth in the area, if the foreign body remains in the skin for a prolonged period.

How to Remove a Foreign Body Safely<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  2. Disinfect a pair of tweezers or a needle with alcohol.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Gently remove the foreign body if it is superficial, pulling it in the same direction from which it entered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
